From Documenting Problems to Building Solutions
INFF Workshop for filmmakers & filmlovers (in English)

Uwe H. Martin (INFF Jury 2021) is an independent visual storyteller. He has received numerous recognitions for his work, including the Greenpeace Award and the German Short Film Award (LOLA). His long-term projects, which combine photography with documentary film, text and sound, focus on the great environmental issues of the Anthropocene.

The Workshop will take the audience on a journey through the American West as documented by Uwe and his partner Frauke over the last 7 years. It dives into the artists long term publishing strategy that bridges newspapers and magazines, video– and multimedia web-documentaries, interactive apps, spatial multichannel exhibitions in museums, video archives and books. Uwe will also discuss how visual storytellers can become constructive forces towards offering Slow Hope for a world in crisis.
