According to science, the 52-hertz whale is considered to be the loneliest of its kind as it communicates throughout its life on a frequency not shared by its fellow species. The US Navy first noticed the songs in the 80s. Since then, researchers worldwide have been asking themselves: Does the lonely 52 really exist? And if so, is he really that lonely? And what could he teach us?
This gripping documentary follows a dedicated crew on their search for the mystery nicknamed “The 52-Hertz Whale”. Produced by actor and environmentalist, Leonardo DiCaprio and Adrian Grenier.
