SPIRITS I’VE CALLED – THE JOURNEY OF STEEL
The Brazilian farmer Pixinga from Carajas, Egbert from Duisburg in Germany and Grazia, a paediatrician from Taranto in Italy, are the three protagonists of this documentary. Through an intimate observation of their daily lives, in three symbolic places of a global production, “Spirits I’ve Called” describes the impact of the mining and steel industry on fragile natural balances and on the health of people living close to the production sites. Moreover, the film pays tribute to the personal commitment of the three protagonists against the blind exploitation of human and natural resources, the consequence of endless over-consumption.
